Advice from the veterans

We asked our teams what advice they would give new racers, and these are some of their answers:

  • Stay positive and keep moving forward.

  • Trust your compass.

  • Slow down and enjoy the time!

  • If you think you have gone far enough, or too far... keep going. You have not gone far enough.

  • Stay fueled and found.

  • Know your body, take care of your body. Know your team, take care of your team.

  • Don't move faster than you can navigate.

  • When you think you’re 100% screwed, you’re really only probably 40% screwed

  • If you feel like giving up overnight, wait until the sun comes up. That changes everything!

  • Remember you are a team for a reason.

  • Eat real food, prepare for the inevitable, accept the unknowns.

  • Prepare to be uncomfortable mentally and physically. It WILL happen and it's difficult to train for.

  • Just keep moving! This is essentially a "Don't Quit" competition.

  • Don’t miss out anymore. Give it a try. You’re more capable than you think.
