SUMMER MAY BE ENDING BUT THE ADVENTURES ARE NOT.
What? Labour Day weekend? Can't be already?!? No matter.
Let's transition from a great Summer of adventure into an amazing Autumn. We've got some info about a fantastic fundraiser to support, some upcoming races, big and small, plus we want you to have your say about this year and looking ahead.
WE WANNA KNOW
2025 was a big year for Wilderness Traverse: we ventured further north. We hosted the ARWS North America Championship. We tweaked some of the ways we do things.
The vibes we got from everyone seemed very positive but we'd looking for a little more feedback. Please take a few moments and fill out our survey. Let us know what you liked and what you didn't about location, course, timing and more. Have your say and help us plan WT 2026.

RUNNING THE BRUCE. RUNNING FOR A REASON.
Cathy Gallagher is no stranger to big adventures. Cathy and her teammates of Team Beowulf have been a strong Wilderness Traverse team for years. Starting September 1st, she is taking on an epic Ontario challenge: Running the length of the Bruce Trail from Tobermory to Niagara Falls. It's Canada's oldest and longest marked footpath, weaving through rugged terrain, dense forests, rocky cliffs, waterfalls, and breathtaking vistas. And it's ONLY 890 kms.
Why? Cathy is running to raise awareness and funds for Food Allergy Canada, a cause deeply personal to her. Her child has a severe dairy allergy and Cathy aims to bring attention to the challenges that families face in managing life-threatening allergies.
We have no doubt Cathy will crush this challenge — she's an adventure racer, right? We hope that the WT community can support her and here's how you can help:
Follow her journey on Instagram @running.the.bruce and share her story to your network
If you're able, support financially with a donation to Food Allergy Canada
Join Cathy on the trail between Tobermory and Niagara Falls over the coming days, either to run or cheer her on. Follow her progress on Instagram!
Go Cathy Go!

CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON CONTINUES IN CANADA
On the heels of our own ARWS North American Championship, our friends at Expedition Canada will host the Subaru Canada Adventure Racing World Championship Sept. 25 - October 4 in Penticton, BC. There are a bunch of Wilderness Traverse connections that will have us following along and cheering:
Team Canada Adventure: Our own Bob Miller returns to expedition racing alongside teammates Shannon Miller, Scott Ford and Ryan Atkins. They won free entry as 2024 ARWS North America Champions.
Current WT Champions Alex Provost and Karine Corbeil will be leading Team 4 Hour Fuel
We're proud of Ontario teams like Spare Parts NARly Expedition, Grit Racing and Kinetic Konnection
who got their start at WT and are now taking on the world.
Team Expedition Canada came east this summer and tied for 2nd at WT and will be the true "home team" in BC
Some WT staff are going to support the event: Amber Panchyshyn will be volunteering and Wayne Leek will be there with his ARWS Race Referee hat on.
Lots of reasons to follow along!

WHAT'S YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE?
There is lots of fall adventure opportunities in the coming months in our region:

Sept 7
Sold out, but wishing good luck to organizers and racers racing around the terrain we love near Parry Sound, Ontario.
Sept 14
A fun adventure near Kingston. You've got 4 hours. How many loops are you up for?
This is one to bookmark, with Ontario navigation events all in one place!
Sept 21
