SUMMER ADVENTURES. LET'S GO! Before you go full send on your summer adventures, take a moment and look after a little housekeeping: If you haven't got your team signed up yet, this is the week to do it as REGULAR PRICING ends this Thursday June 11 at Midnight! Get on over to the 2026 Wilderness Traverse Registration Page, and get your team in the game. Be a part of Canada's classic adventure race at Lion's Camp Dorset on September 26-27, 2026. Register now for WT2026![]() ADVENTURE CAMP! We hosted our second annual Adventure Racing Training Camp at YMCA Camp Pinecrest in late April. We had both AR newcomers learning the basics and experienced racers looking to upskill. A great group with good discussions and workshops, culminating with a chance to put the skills into practice with a Sunday morning race. Here's a glimpse of the weekend and look for info in early 2027 about our next camp! BUILDING A TEAM Adventure racers are people that perhaps see "fun" differently than most. Sometimes the toughest part is putting those people together and getting that team to the start line. If that's why your team is not signed up yet, or if you need a team, put your hand up and let the world know. Here's some resources to help make WT happen for you:
![]() CHANGE TAKES A TEAM For all our events, we support charitible organizations that align with our beliefs. Once again, we are proud to support Outward Bound Canada as our "Race for a Cause" partner and the life-changing wilderness experiences they provide for young Canadians. If you are able, please consider adding a fundraising element to your Wilderness Traverse experience. Support a good program, earn some swag and maybe you can even race for free! Learn more about the program on our website. OUR COURSE TESTING TEAM Earlier in Spring 2026, Race Director Bob Miller and some WT staff headed out to do some 2026 WT course testing. The course is secret until race day, but when asked, Bob was typically chatty with some details: "Beautiful section, 8 km of portaging. Will be a tough paddle. Saw loons and a dead moose." That's all you get for now, WT fans. More course testing this month as we finetune what will be a great course in September. UPDATE FROM THE SCIENTIFIC TEAM Many of you will remember the research team who were conducting sampling and testing at WT2024 (watch the video). This week, we had an update from the head of the study, Dr. Julia Totosy de Zepetnek. They will be presenting findings in two different areas, plus there may be more research with adventure racers to come. Want a taste of what they've learned so far from your spit? "These findings demonstrate that prolonged multi-stressor exertion induces substantial remodeling of the salivary proteome, characterized predominantly by reductions in proteins involved in cellular signalling and maintenance."
Reach out if you want to read the full report. LET'S RACE It's racing season and it's been great seeing familiar faces at recent events, including our own Storm Adventure Race in late May. Good luck to teams participating in Ontario events and events further afield, like Raid Pulse this weekend north of Ottawa and Endless Mountains in Vermont. We love it when we see our community supporting organizations that create fun, outdoor adventures.
Wherever your summer adventures take you, enjoy. As always, follow us on social and if you've got questions, get in touch.
