On to Stage 4 - Mountain Biking!

Out of the woods and onto the trails. From CP7/TA2 it’s time to crank the legs and ride a mix of ski and snowshoe trails, gravel roads, and gnarly single track. This section has two long legs from CP7 to CP8, then CP8 to CP9, followed by a two-checkpoint trekking loop, then they’ll get back on the bikes to CP12/TA5. This leg begins in the Frost Centre trail network (look at all those cute animal silhouettes), with its own map, then heads out to a “Suggested Route” (really the only route) which is marked with (did we read this correctly?) ‘mud-holes & brambles.’ As an added challenge, racers - who usually have their maps mounted on special holders on their handlebars - will have to read routes while bumping along trails. We think that’s fun!
