Meet our Co-Ed Open Teams!
These are our 3-person co-ed teams! 37 - Team Fjord From: Toronto, Ontario Profile: Team Fjord is making its third attempt at Wilderness Traverse, and this time they’re focused less on the clock and more on making smarter decisions. Geoff handles navigation and decision-making, Michelle keeps the team fed and tracks the steps, and Ryan provides lookout duties and general good vibes. Navigation and several of the race skills are still relatively new to them, so their goal is t

T4, Ready for Teams
T4 is where teams come off their final trek and hop back in the saddle for the final (but long) 58km biking leg. The TA is set-up and ready to receive racers (and looking real nice!). Our top teams are quickly approaching, so we can expect to see some action at this transition area starting up pretty soon! There are a few hours left for our top teams, but that finish line is starting to feel a whole lot closer!

Back of the Pack (?) - Update
We're seeing the back part of our teams out on course spread further out with some quite close behind 'mid' pack (hence the '?' above) with the rest of our teams spread fairly far apart along the canoe section. These teams are pushing their limits, working hard and still have a long road ahead of them! Cheer them on and if you're team is in this group - send some encouraging words their way!

Mid-Pack Update!
The mid pack is quite spread out, but we have a good contingent off the water and onto the trek. I'm sure teams coming into TA3 are happy to get off the water and warm up with by getting moving on foot. Here's our 'trek' contingent for this mid-pack update: Another big part of our mid-pack is still out on the water.

Front Runners - the gap grows
It's been a few hours since did a 'where are they now?' update on the front of the pack. So let's take a look, shall we? Our top teams are well into the trek. The trek will eventually pop them out to a road and down to TA4 where they will hop back onto their bikes for the final discipline - a bike that will take them into the finish! That road section is an opportunity to run for our top teams in hopes they can maintain their place or, perhaps catch up and overtake someone el

Meet our Premier Co-Ed Teams
Co-ed teams of 4 are the 'traditional' team format in adventure racing, so that tradition carries on with this category. 11 - Mercators AR From: Ontario & Québec Profile: Mercators AR is bringing serious experience and a clear team philosophy to Wilderness Traverse: race hard as a unit, maximize individual strengths, and compensate for weaknesses through teamwork. Scott is the workhorse, Patrick apparently runs with canoes, Jerome keeps the coffee flowing, and Una handles log

No more Ruh Roh! Team 53 is back on track!
Remember our second set of 'ruh roh' set of teams (26 and 53)? We have an update! Team 26 (Night Walkers) has decided to call it a night and leave the course (all are fine for anyone at home following along) after reaching TA2. Team 53 (W.I.L.D) found there way back on course and made it into TA2 and have decided to keep going! We've been cheering on from HQ and were very excited to hear from TA2 staff that the team is upbeat and ready to hit the water. With their decision to

What in the psychedelic tea party is happening here??
This probably isn't what teams are expecting to run into when they come up to TA3 at Tea Lake campground in Algonquin Park, but this rather psychedelic Alice in Wonderland meets the Nightmare Before Christmas is what greets them. The rather enthusiastic TA volunteers at this location include veteran racers, race volunteers and partners of racers who know there's nothing quite like a little middle of the woods part-ay that includes regular tea, lasso tea (aka coffee) and soup-

Introducing the Lanterne Rouge
If you're new to WT, you may not have heard of the Lanterne Rouge. We've taken a page out of the road cycling racing book with this coveted prize that recognizes the grit, endurance and sheer stubborness needed to be out working you tail off for 30 hours. We tip our hats to these folks and you should too. In our WT playbook, this award goes to the last team to cross the finish line ranked. Stay tuned for periodic updates on who is looking like the favourite for the Lanterne

Back of the Pack - Conga, the Sequel
The conga line continues its way toward the back of the pack as most of our teams are out on the water on the paddle leg. This ground is on the water, but hasn't quite made it to CP9 (where warm welcomes and drinks await with Tim, Richard, Aubrey & Neil). Teams toward the back of the pack continue to make good time on the water and (like the mid-pack) are facing additional challenges with dropping temperatures and limited visibility. The full moon tonight is definitely a boon
